Guangdong Provincial Economic and Trade Delegation Visits Indonesia-China Economic, Social and Cultural Cooperation Association

Peace Daily, March 7, 2025, In order to deepen the economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong Province, China and Indonesia, at the invitation of the Indonesia-China Economic, Social and Cultural Cooperation Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Indonesia-China Cooperation Association"), Guo Song, Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Trade Promotion Association for Indonesia, led a delegation to visit Jakarta recently and held a discussion with senior officials of the India-China Cooperation Association.

 

The two sides reached a number of consensuses on key areas such as power trade, medical cooperation, and smart cities, and planned a clear blueprint for cooperation in the next five years to jointly explore new opportunities for cooperation. Discussing the prospects of cooperation and focusing on three major areas, the delegation visited the India-China Cooperation Association on March 4 and was warmly received by Vice Chairman Wu Yongmei, Executive Chairman Chen Yongzhi, and Deputy Secretary-General Lin Fazhen.

 

Chen Yongzhi gave a detailed introduction to the achievements of the association in promoting cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, etc. between the two countries since its establishment in 1992, and emphasized Indonesia's emphasis on deepening local cooperation with China.

 

Chairman Guo Song focused on introducing the Guangdong Provincial Trade Promotion Association for Indonesia: Both parties will actively participate in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and promote the "five external linkages" of foreign trade, foreign investment, outsourcing, foreign economic cooperation and foreign intelligence. He also promoted the advantages of Guangdong Province in the fields of power equipment and new energy technology, and proposed to use power trade as a breakthrough to promote Guangdong enterprises to participate in the construction of energy infrastructure in Indonesia."

 

At the symposium, the two sides identified three recent cooperation priorities:

 

First, to form the "New Generation of Guangdong-Indonesia First Consortium", set up a professional committee for youth cooperation, integrate the resources of Guangdong private enterprises, and create an investment consortium for Indonesia;

 

Second, to promote medical and health cooperation, set up a professional committee for medical and health, and explore the joint construction of a traditional Chinese medicine center and a medical equipment supply chain in Indonesia;

 

Third, to prepare for the "Guangdong-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Special" in June, and promote Indonesia's investment policies and Guangdong industrial projects through online and offline linkage. Anchoring the five-year plan to lay out key projects For medium- and long-term cooperation, the two sides listed smart cities and seawall projects as core projects for the next five years.
